The numbers are in!
The 2025 South Carolina Spartan Race brought in an incredible 9,300 participants, spectators, and volunteers to the events: Ultra, Beast, Sprint, and Super, which took place over both Saturday (11/15) and Sunday (11/16).
Here’s the breakdown:
Saturday
• Ultra: 846.
• Beast: 2,382.
• Sprint: 1,208.
• Spectators: 734.
Sunday
• Super: 1,905.
• Sprint: 1,722.
• Spectators: 495.
We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who made this event possible, the Johnson family, the City of Newberry, emergency services, volunteers, and so many others.
A special thank you goes out to the residents of Newberry County for welcoming thousands of visitors into our community. Your hospitality is a huge part of what makes this event special.

What another great year for the Spartan Race in Newberry County!
This year brought an incredible crowd to our community, and we couldn’t be more excited to host such a rewarding event.
A huge thank-you to the Johnson family for serving as the primary host of the event for the fourth year in a row. The event also makes use of other areas in our county, including other private land and Lynch’s Woods Park. Newberry County is proud to play a role in the Spartan Race experience.
The Spartan Race is truly a team effort, bringing together multiple partners, including the City of Newberry, various emergency services, the Johnson Family Farm, and the county, working side-by-side to make this event possible.

Newberry County would like to extend a warm welcome to all visiting for this weekend’s Spartan Race! We’re excited to have you here and hope you enjoy your time exploring everything our community has to offer.

In honor of Veterans Day, Newberry County Government offices will be closed today, November 11, 2025. This includes all Recycling Centers and the Transfer Station.
