The Investigations Division investigates reports of criminal activity and works with all local, state, and federal agencies to bring offenders to justice.

As well as the Lieutenant, this division includes four highly qualified sworn officers, consisting of five (5) Criminal Investigators and one (1) Narcotics Investigator, dedicated to investigating all major crimes committed in the county and works diligently to successfully close all investigations. All investigations the Sheriff’s Office conducts are carried to the fullest extent, regardless of circumstances of the crime, involved parties, social status, or residence. The Sheriff’s Office is committed to finding the perpetrators of these crimes and holding them responsible.

Investigators are responsible for case development activities, including locating and recovering stolen property, gathering and processing forensic evidence from crime scenes, interview victims and witnesses, and interrogating criminal suspects. Investigators then compile and organize this information before presenting it to the courts for prosecution and testify in court as necessary. Investigators also prepare affidavits for arrest warrants, search warrants, liaison with other agencies, and perform many other related duties.
