The South Carolina Office of Resilience will have a Disaster Case Management (DCM) Mobile Intake event at the Hal Kohn Memorial Library (110 Friend Street, Newberry).
The DCM Mobile Intake will take place April 28-30, 2025, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m., daily.
SCOR is offering a DCM program in response to Hurricane Helene, which impacted the southeast in September 2024. DCM is a process involving a partnership between a Disaster Case Manager and a survivor with disaster-caused unmet needs. Both the survivor and case manager work to develop an Individualized Recovery Plan to address all unmet needs, whether these are physical, financial, or emotional.
The DCM team is currently offering multiple Mobile Intake events in counties that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved for Individual Assistance. At a Mobile Intake, survivors with disaster-caused unmet needs may drop-in without needing to schedule an appointment. Members of the DCM team will be available to meet one-on-one with survivors to learn about their needs and connect them with community disaster recovery resources.
Newberry County is part of the SCOR Region 3, and can be contacted at 843-957-7636.
