The Newberry County Mulch Facility, located on S.C. Hwy 34, will not be receiving any vegetative debris next week (May 26-June 1, 2025). The last day residents can drop off their vegetative debris will be Friday, May 23, 2025, by 4 p.m.

The temporary closure is due to an influx of debris coupled with the grinding machine being offline for a week. There was also a large quantity of debris that was already onsite, these two situations have put the mulch facility at the max capacity that is established and monitored by the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services.

The closure of the facility for a week will allow for Newberry County Public Work to catch up and grind the vegetation debris currently on site.

The mulch facility will resume normal operations on Monday, June 2 at 7 a.m. I you have any questions, please call Newberry County Public Works at 803-321-2180.
