The Central Midlands Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan update is underway, and we need your input! This plan update is required for the participating counties and municipalities to maintain eligibility for pre- and post-disaster mitigation funding from FEMA. The plan will also help our communities to identify hazard risks, understand vulnerability, and develop ways to proactively reduce risk.
To kick off the planning process, a virtual public meeting will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. to discuss the plan update process, review the identified hazards, and gather feedback from the public. We’re interested in your experiences with past hazards and your ideas for reducing risk.
To learn more about the planning process and to register to attend the meeting, visit www.CentralMidlandsHMP.com. On this site you will find information about upcoming and past Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee meetings and public meetings, a link for the public survey, draft documents, and other mitigation planning resources.
