During the most recent Newberry County Council meeting, Tommy Long, Newberry County Emergency Services director, recognized Consolidated Station 5 Fire Department, Little Mountain Fire Station 6, and Little Mountain Rescue Station 18.
During his presentation, he highlighted their volunteers, performance, recognitions, and much more!
Newberry County Council thanked the volunteers for their hard work and acknowledged how lucky the county is to have the volunteer departments.
This was the first of a new tradition of Newberry County Council recognizing the volunteer services within Newberry County!

Newberry County Veteran’s Affairs had an amazing time partnering with Wheeling and Reeling, the Forestry Commission, the Department of Natural Resources, and the City of Newberry for the second annual Spring Military Family Fishing Day!
The event was held at Hidden Lake at the Newberry Recreation Complex and the turn out was incredible! Our local veterans had a great time not only fishing, but also volunteering their time to help others fish!

The Newberry County Building and Zoning Department celebrated Ms. Virginia Atkins on her retirement from Newberry County after 15+ years!
Ms. Atkins began with the Human Resources Department before moving over to Newberry County Building and Zoning Department as administrative coordinator.
Congratulations Ms. Atkins on your retirement, we will miss you!
